The Tournament is sanctioned by the C.A.H.A. and the G.T.H.L. and will be played under G.T.H.L. rules except where specified below. All games will be played at The Ice Gardens at York University.
Admission is Free to all games.
TEAM REGISTRATION
All players and team officials participating in the tournament must be registered with their teams on approved C.H.A. cards. The only exception to this will be in the case of affiliated players who must be registered on approved C.H.A. cards and be on the participating team's Tournament Roster. All teams must register with the Tournament committee at least 60 minutes prior to their first game. Player's cards, team rosters and permission forms will be verified to a player list provided by the team at that time and each team's package will be distributed then. Any final revisions to the team's roster must be made prior to the first game. Any falsifying of players cards or rosters will result in an automatic disqualification of the team. Due to Ice Limitations schedules will not be altered to accommodate teams.
TEAMS WITHOUT PROPERLY APPROVED ROSTERS OR APPROVED PLAYERS
CARDS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE ICE AND FORFEIT ANY GAMES PRIOR TO
PROVIDING SUCH INFORMATION.
PROTESTS
1. Protests will be allowed on relevant rule interpretations only.
2. In the case of a protest, the CAPTAIN of the protesting team will notify the REFEREE's of the protest.
3. The referee will then notify the opposing team as well as the timekeeper who will record the
protest on the game sheet.
If the protest is of immediate importance and impacts the game, the referee will call for the convenor who will arrange for the rules and discipline committee to immediately hear and rule on the protest. If
the protest does not have a direct bearing on the outcome of the game, the committee will hear and rule on the protest immediately after the game has been completed. No protests will be allowed on Improper
Uniforms , Stick or Equipment Measurements, improper starting lineups or player eligibility. All decisions of the Rules and Discipline committee will be deemed final.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
The tournament will be a round robin format with each team playing 4 games. The top 2 teams in each division will advance to the finals.
Game times will be as follows:
Minor Atom through Minor Peewee 10 - 10 - 10 with 55 min curfew.
Peewee through Bantam 10 -10 -12 with 60 min curfew.
Minor Midget through Midget 10 - 10 - 15 with 65 minute curfew.
All games are stop time. There is a mercy rule that allows for running time should the score differential reach 5 goals at any time during the third period. Stop time is not resumed for the remaining of the game.
The convener may at his/her digression set the game into running time if it is felt that a safety Issue exists.
All games shall have a curfew as follows:
Minor Atom through Minor Peewee 55 Minutes
Peewee through Bantam 60 Minutes
Minor Midget through Midget 65 Minutes
Teams will be notified by the timekeeper 10 minutes before the curfew occurs.
In the round robin points are awarded as follows:
2 points for a win.
1 point for a tie.
0 points for a loss.
Tie games will be allowed in the Round Robin portion of the Tournament.
Ties in the standings at the end of the Round Robin will be resolved by the following method.
1. If two teams are tied the winner of the head to head game advances. If there are 3 teams tied then the head to head tie breaker does not apply and go to step #2.
2. The higher percentage, taken to 3 decimal points, when total goals for are divided by the sum of goals for and goals against.
3. Highest number of goals for.
4. Fewest number of goals against.
5. Fewest penalty minutes in the Round Robin games.
6. Coin Toss.
In the event of a tie at the end of regulation time in the Championship game, 10-minute Sudden Victory periods will be used to declare a winner.

TEAMS ARE ADVISED THAT DUE TO ICE LIMITATIONS YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO START YOUR GAME 15 MINUTES AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. TEAMS UNABLE TO START WHEN REQUESTED WILL FORFEIT THEIR GAME. CONVENORS WILL ADVISE TEAMS AHEAD OF TIME IF AN EARLY START IS APPLICABLE.
